Day 3

So far so good. I've been eating at least 2 meals at home a day which is a big step for me. I didn't execise much yesterday, was tired, took a bubble bath and went to bed early. Of course sleep is good too....I got 9 hours, yea! Free breakfast and lunch at work today, not the best, bagels and pizza, but I did also have a salad with lunch! Will be going dancing tonight so that will help with some of those calories, cross your fingers. I weighed in last night, says I've lost a pound so we'll see if it sticks! Wish me luck, please post inspirational quotes or any advice as always! Thanks!

Focus on what you REALLY REALLY want to accomplish

So yesterday was pretty good for me! I had 3 solid meals, one including some delicious fish, and low calorie snacks. The only treat I had was one ice cream sandwich at FHE, so pretty good!! Of course I can still do better...I did go out to eat for lunch but it was a good meal, not fast food....well not REALLY fast food. :) I was able to get some exercise playing pretty good volleyball for about an hour in a half. So that was good. What kept me going when I started to want to snack or eat something bad was for me to focus on what I REALLY want to accomplish....I want to be in good shape, I want to excel at sports, I want to feel more comfortable in my own skin. If I eat too many treats or bad meals...it's not gonna happen. "If you keep doing the same things, you'll keep getting the same results." So on to day 2 of my blog and plan of taking one day at time. Brought a healthy lunch today and tennis after work. Wish me LUCK!

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again

Do you ever find yourself starting over with your goals every Monday? An old co-worker of mine and I always joked "New diet starts Monday". Then by Tuesday or Wednesday of the next week we'd say it again. I find myself doing that a LOT. I can't seem to see myself sticking with it for an ENTIRE week. So...I've now decided to take it one exercise, one meal, one healthy snack at a time. One way I've done this is to make sure and make my lunch (including snacks) ahead of time so I don't have a choice other than to eat good. This helps but I must remember to eat those healthy snacks on my breaks. If I don't eat enough I end up starving by lunch and wanting to overeat. Another friend offered some more good advice. Listen to your body. If you're thinking of going out to eat because of tradition or routine, listen to your body....maybe it just wants an apple or some veggie sticks instead. Just because you're used to going out and enjoy the food doesn't mean you ALWAYS have to. My big kuddos to myself is I am GREAT with breakfast, always eat a good healthy breakfast, I just tend to eat worse as the day progresses. As you can see,  I am still struggling and any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Maybe tomorrow I will post about some great work out I ending up doing this evening, cross your fingers!
